Finally read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The Dementors have done too much soul-sucking around the place for me to enjoy the book. And where all manner of humor or happiness has vanished from the world of the book, “snogging” has entered big time, and fifteen year olds are asserting their rights to kiss whoever they want wherever they want. Jolly good for a Star World soap, pathetic for a book about witches and wizards. If you’re trying to tell me they’re human too, I wish they would also display human common sense. Addle-brained Harry makes me livid, and so does practically everyone else.

ah... finally one more soul who agrees...i kind of liked he first book and topsee sent me the eversions of the remaining... didnt really like it either... just the hype about the whole thing! i will stick to my enid blytons even if they are sometimes sickeningly goody goody!
i still havent read it...am not so brave.
Just re-read Malory towers this weekend - HP is nowhere near these. I was also struck by the "borrowed" ideas including a special train, 4 towers of the school etc.
Colours you just gave me something to fight my kids, *GRIN* my kids = students; they are the ones who forced me to read that stupid thing! i have the whole malory towers and st. clares too *GRIN*
